Twórczość Lidki Rozmus cechuje prostota i oszczędność środków– zdaje się kierować zasadą: raczej mniej, niż więcej. Nadrzędną cechą jej działań artystycznych jest kontrolowana spontaniczność. Widać to wyraźnie w malarskim geście śmiało prowadzonego pędzla, w syntetycznej i zrównoważonej kompozycji każdej z prac. W haiku autorstwa Lidki – formie poetyckiej z założenia oszczędnej i skrótowej – często spotykane słowa to: cisza, spokój, pustka. To także immanentne cechy całej jej twórczości. W kontakcie z pracami Lidki odczuwamy spokój, „słyszymy” ciszę, a pusta przestrzeń w jej kompozycjach nie jest brakiem, przeciwnie – działa na widza swoją formą.

Ale jest jeszcze coś więcej: o twórczości Lidki Rozmus nie da się myśleć w oderwaniu od niej samej. Ta twórczość organicznie wyrasta z osobowości Lidki, jest jej żywym wyrazem, formą autoekspresji w dużo większym stopniu, niż to zwykle bywa u artystów. Nie potrafimy w tym przypadku oddzielić twórczości od twórcy: pozostają ze sobą w idealnej harmonii i symbiozie. Ten stan trafnie oddaje najpiękniejsze bodaj, a na pewno najważniejsze haiku Lidki:

“Returns” is a catalog of a retrospective exhibition featuring paintings, prints and photographs by Lidia Rozmus. The exhibition took place at the Nowa Huta Cultural Center in Krakow from April 15 to May 30, 2023.
The art of Lidka Rozmus is polyphonic. According to western measures and criteria she is a versatile artist: she paints, she writes poetry, she takes photographs, she makes book designs. But at the same time her art is extremely homogeneous. Not only because for Lidka the word, haiku, combined with the gesture of the brush dipped in ink gives rise to yet another classical poetic and painterly genre, haiga. Her own style, her unique vein, can be also found in her photos, her books and her paintings, which grow out of her own tradition. All these forms of artistic activity, different as they are, make a surprisingly harmonious whole In her haiku – the form economical and brief by definition – the words most frequently encountered are “silence”, “peace” and “emptiness.” Such are also the inherent properties of her art. When we get in touch with Lidka’s works we feel peace and we hear silence, and the empty space in her compositions does not imply shortage: just the contrary – it affects the observer through its form.
One cannot think about Lidka’s art without thinking about Lidka herself. Her creativity grows out organically from her very personality, it is its direct expression, a kind of self-expression, to a degree much higher than is the case with most artists. In her case, it is impossible to separate the artist from the artist’s work: they are perfectly harmonious and symbiotic.
