Two albums brought together in a single box set, presenting two extraordinary series of photographs, most of them previously unpublished, from the Warsaw Ghetto
Uprising. Zbigniew Leszek Grzywaczewski’s album features unique photographs taken from inside the ghetto during the uprising, where the photographer was working as a firefighter. The images are accompanied by a memoir about Maciej Grzywaczewski’s father and an essay commenting on the photographs by Jacek Leociak. Rudolf Damec’s album contains photographs taken along the ghetto wall on the “Aryan” side during the uprising. These images are accompanied by a remembrance
of the photographer written by his granddaughter, Aleksandra Sobiecka, and an essay by Barbara Engelking.
